CERHI At 2018 ICFP Conference in Kigali

Professor Friday Okonofua, Centre Leader of CERHI was at the 2018 International Conference on Family Planning (ICFP) held from 12-15 November in Kigali, Rwanda. The conference was co-hosted by the Government of Rwanda, represented by the Ministry of Health, and the Bill & Melinda Gates Institute for Population and Reproductive Health at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. Over 3,000 high-level policy makers, scientists, researchers, program managers, civic leaders, youth, and faith-based organizations from about 120 countries shared their best research and practices to expand access to family planning services.
The paper presented was “I don’t think family planning is helping women rather it is “killing” many women”: Uncovering persistent ignorance and misconceptions about family planning in rural Nigeria.
